Foundation of Harlem Renaissance 

From the 1910's through the mid-1930's, Harlem neighborhoods in New York City were often called the Black Cultural Mecca due to the literature, art, music, stage performance.  Amazing talent like poet Langston Hughes, musicians  Louis Armstrong, and artists Aaron Douglas came out during this time.    The early 20th Century was known for the golden age in the African American culture with an artistic and social eruption
